Weight management when eating is not about hunger

Stress eating, evening grazing, the constant background hum some people call food noise — these are extremely common and rarely fixed by another rule about portion sizes. MedicalWeightRx offers physician-guided weight management, and a physician can review whether a GLP-1 or Dual GIP/GLP-1 plan is appropriate for you. What we do not offer, and will not pretend to, is treatment for a mental health condition or an eating disorder.

Where the line is

If you are living with an eating disorder — binge eating disorder, bulimia, anorexia, or anything you suspect might be one — the right first step is a clinician who specialises in it, not a weight-loss programme. Disclose any history of disordered eating in the assessment. It is directly relevant to whether the physician can prescribe safely.

What the medication acts on

GLP-1 and Dual GIP/GLP-1 medications work on appetite signalling — how full you feel and how quickly hunger returns. They are prescribed here for weight management alongside food and activity changes. They are not antidepressants, not anxiety medication, and not a treatment for stress or mood, and we make no claim in that direction.

Be honest in the assessment

Any current mental health medication, any history of disordered eating, anything you are already working on with a therapist — all of it belongs in the form. It will not automatically disqualify you, and leaving it out is what makes a safe decision impossible.

Frequently asked questions

Does this treat binge eating disorder?
No. MedicalWeightRx provides weight-management care only. Disordered eating should be addressed with a clinician who treats it, and any history should be disclosed in your assessment.
Will it quiet food noise?
That is a description many people use about appetite changes, but individual results vary and nothing is guaranteed. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and do not undergo FDA review for safety or effectiveness. Individual results vary.
I take medication for anxiety or depression. Can I still apply?
List it in the assessment. It does not automatically rule you out, and the reviewing physician needs it to decide. A U.S.-licensed physician reviews your assessment and makes the final decision on whether treatment is appropriate. A prescription is never guaranteed.
Do you provide therapy or counselling?
No. We provide physician-guided weight-management care. Anything beyond that should come from the appropriate clinician.
